This client is urgently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Interim with Local Authority experience, specifically in the Construction, Regeneration and Housing.

Responsibilities:

Working as part of the Council’s Procurement & Commercial Service you will bring deep subject expertise to a specialist area or business portfolio and work in close partnership with a Head of Commercial. You will promote strong co-ordination and technical consistency across your designated portfolio as well as identifying cross cutting and strategic procurement opportunities.

This is one of several posts in the Procurement Service that work flexibly to support the commercial needs of the Council. You will demonstrate deep commercial awareness and technical expertise across your area of specialism.

Role Specifics:

• Has deep subject expertise and credibility for the development, construction services and regeneration directorate.
• Has a deep understanding of the end to end commissioning or procurement process and the key inputs that are required to deliver successful outcomes, including those covered by PCR regulations;
• Has the ability to think strategically whilst maintaining a strong focus on service delivery;
• Has developed and maintained productive relationships, including those with key stakeholders and external organisations;
• Has worked in a structured or project-based environment;
• Worked independently or with others to deliver discreet projects;
• Has produced written and verbal summaries, including reports that have a strong and compelling narrative;
• Has strong financial literacy and numeracy and has used analysis to influence outcomes or thinking.

Key skills:
• Proven delivery skills and experience of working to tight, pressurised deadlines;
• Highly developed communication skills, the ability to generate insight and value added for the customer;
• A heightened commercial acumen;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing;
• Highly literate computer skills particularly MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
