Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client, based in the East of England, for the recruitment of several Assistant Category Managers. These are permanent roles on an initial 12 month contract with a salary of up to £38,000 on offer (depending on experience). These roles will be 100% home based until March 2021, in line with government guidance, and will then be a mixture of home/office based.
The Assistant Category Manager will report into the Head of Procurement and will have no line management responsibilities. Successful candidates will manage the delivery of sourcing processes in a compliant and timely manner and will be directly responsible for contracts assigned with a maximum value of £25m to achieve continual innovations and Value for Money (VfM). Candidates will also be responsible for assisting in strategic management of smaller contracts to ensure service level agreements and key performance indicators are monitored.
Candidates applying for this role MUST HAVE experience covering:
- CIPS qualified (or working towards) or equivalent qualifications/work experience
- Understanding of Category Management methodologies to deliver cost savings and/or service improvements
- Understanding of running end to end PCR2015 and OJEU compliant Procurements
- Experience negotiating with suppliers to achieve Value for Money (VfM)
