Cedar are partnering with a top 25 UK chartered accountancy firm who are a commercially astute organisation with a personal, partner-led service aimed at entrepreneurial small and medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporates and high-net worth individuals. Their clients come from multiple backgrounds and are active in all branches of commerce and industry. The firms reputation is grounded in quality, delivering premium advisory services efficiently and cost-effectively.

Founded in 1933, the practice comprises 29 partners and approximately 310 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, business recovery and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.
The Department is uniquely positioned with the organisation and has a particular focus on authors and journalists. The department provides a "one-stop shop" for owner managed businesses including personal and corporate tax, accounting, and VAT functions.

The firm requires a part-qualified/nearly-qualified ACCA accountant with at least two years' experience within a practice environment. The successful candidate will have prior experience within a firm that specialises in clients from the media or sporting sector. We also require the following qualities and skills;

·Excellent organisational skills
·The ability to work independently and be able to take responsibility for own work
·Excellent attention to detail
·The ability to work calmly under pressure and be able to prioritise own time
·A good knowledge of limited company accounts and the issues affecting small limited companies
·Knowledge of PAYE regulations
·Good knowledge of corporate tax and FRS102 1A

As well as the above there it is expected the suitable candidate to have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word packages. It would be desirable for the candidate to have knowledge/experience of AP accounting software as well as ProAudit, although training will be provided where necessary. Prior experience of QBO or Xero would again be advantageous but not essential.
The Role requires a part-qualified ACCA to work in the above department, specifically within our growing Sports Group. The role will involve a variety of general practice work primarily focused on accounts. The responsibilities of the role are varied and will include the following;
·Preparing limited company accounts
·Preparing sole trader, partnership and rental accounts
·Preparing VAT returns
·Communicating and corresponding with clients
·Communicating with HMRC
·Preparation of P11D's
·Assisting with company secretarial matters
·Preparation of Personal and Partnership Tax Returns
·Assisting in the billing of clients
·Attendance at networking events
·Liaising with specialist departments in the Firm
·Other ad hoc duties in line with the role
