We have partnered with a growing private equity backed global education provider who are looking for a proven sole Accounts Payable Specialist to join their busy team.

The successful person will be a self-starter and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Purchase Invoice processing in AP Connect, which has a direct workflow through into JDE
  • Automated BACS payments to suppliers from our financial system, JD Edwards across 2 schools - currently fortnightly
  • Daily Reconciliation of supplier ledgers
  • Assisting in replying to queries and correspondence with suppliers
  • Timely reporting for month end ensuring all invoices not on system are accrued for and information is passed to Senior Accountant
  • Working closely with the Business Managers and Heads of Schools to ensure correct approvals are provided for all invoices
  • Assisting the FM with implementation of PO system in JD Edwards
  • Once implemented, design a process across all Schools where PO processing and Order placing is done automatically through the Requisition Self Service and monitored vs budget
  • Liaison with external auditors on creditor queries

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Previous accounts payable experience is essential
  • Ability to pick up databases quickly
  • Fully proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • A self-starter with the drive, determination and commitment to get things done
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
  • Organised and able to plan and prioritise
  • A good team player, flexible, able to adapt and pro-active with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and self-motivated
