Cedar are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join a Facilities Management Company based in Central London on a permanent basis.

Salary: £26,000 per annum + study support

Reports to the Financial Controller

Main duties:

  • Collating billing schedules of variable work from the business and issuing sales invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop the process for billing revenue works; business partnering with the Financial Controller, Operations teams, and site staff to identify and implement improvements to the accuracy and timeliness of this process.
  • Document the process for billing revenue from variable works.
  • Support the Financial Controller to improve the quality, accuracy and timeless of management information provided the Operations team regarding revenue, cost of sales and gross profit through variable works.
  • Production of monthly client reports for a small portfolio of clients; ensuring the integrity of profit & loss accounts by way of project cost & revenue scrutiny, ensuring all costs and revenues are allocated correctly, timely and can be fully substantiated.
  • Perform critical review of monthly client profit & loss accounts for a small portfolio of clients; business partnering with operations to analyse and review significant variances against budget and maintaining annual forecast spend against budget.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts for a small portfolio of clients; ensuring balances are reconciled and substantiated, and any items at risk are investigated and resolved when identified, reporting back to Operations & the Financial Controller stakeholders on any areas of concern.
  • Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with company ethos.
  • Any reasonable ad-hoc assistance to the Financial Controller, the Group Financial Controller, and the wider Finance team on request.

Essential Experience:

  • Wishing to start, or continue, professional accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 2 years' experience in Finance department working within a transaction team
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements to financial processes
  • Excel skills
  • Experience building relationships with multiple stakeholders from across the business
