Having worked in financial recruitment for over 20 years, Howard has gained a wealth of knowledge in both the finance and recruitment industries. Howard’s focus has been on building Cedar into a strong and respected brand since 2003. As a result, Cedar is now renowned for its professionalism, flexibility and ability to deliver recruitment solutions that genuinely add value to its partner clients. Howard is an enthusiastic advocate for honest, straight talking and consultative business partnering. Howard is an avid cyclist and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
Senior Partner, Finance
Starting his recruitment career in 1997, Graham worked for a small number of leading international recruitment organisations before joining Cedar in 2004 shortly after its inception. The majority of his career has been spent sourcing mid to senior level finance professionals, working closely with a diverse mix of clients. Graham’s success is based on creating robust, long term relationships with transparent and candid communication. This, combined with a fixation on delivery, has resulted in an exceptional network and a deep understanding of the value of a genuine recruitment partner. Graham is an avid cyclist, Liverpool FC supporter, keen gardener and father of twin daughters.
Matt has 11 years’ experience recruiting in London and Sydney specialising in finance hires at the mid to senior end of the market. Matt has an excellent understanding of the senior finance landscape and partners closely with CEOs, CFOs and Finance Directors to provide top quality interim professionals at speed. He is a strategic thinker who is known for his honest, direct and pragmatic approach. His commitment to Cedar’s future success makes him well placed to support, develop and motivate his team. Matt has a love for all sport, in particularly football and golf and in his spare time enjoys cooking and dining at new restaurants.
Lauren joined in 2011 from Skillcapital, a specialist executive search consultancy. Whilst there, Lauren focussed on the placement of CFOs and Finance Directors into pan-European private equity backed business. Prior to Skillcapital, Lauren worked in executive search within the Industrial team at Odgers Berndtson, placing executive and non-executive management into both public and private companies. A History graduate from the University of Birmingham, Lauren maintains that the key to a successful career in recruitment is the ability to forge lasting relationships built on integrity, trust and transparency.
Associate Partner, Finance
A graduate from the University of the West of England with a BA Hons in Property Management and Investment, Mike has worked in financial recruitment for over 6 years. Mike started his career with a Global Finance Recruitment business and joined Cedar in 2015. He is now an Associate Partner specialising in the placement of senior interim financial professionals from the newly qualified level through to CFO appointments. Mike is a strong believer of building an extensive network within his market and to better provide consultative advice for anyone he works with. Mike is a keen golfer and is a member of a golf club in Surrey where he can be found most weekends.
Senior Partner & Head of the Finance Practice
A graduate from the University of Birmingham, Jayne joined Cedar in 2017 to spearhead the Finance Practice and drive the growth of the company. Her key focus is to further enhance Cedar’s client portfolio and fortify existing relationships, providing the requisite support to ensure the team reaches its full potential while maintaining Cedar’s unique culture. Jayne believes the added value from a true recruitment partner comes from refined sector specialism and expert market knowledge, with a steadfast commitment to building long term relationships providing consultative advice. Jayne enjoys spending time with her family and attending music festivals.

As a graduate in business studies and with 14 years’ experience in the financial recruitment sector, Robert joined Cedar in 2009. His practice focus on the recruitment of senior interim finance professionals from the newly qualified to CFO level with a strong emphasis on delivering tailored solutions at speed. In his spare time, Robert is a season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotspur FC, enjoys running marathons, as well building (and enjoying) his wine collection. …

Sholto has worked in financial recruitment for over 10 years, specialising in part-qualified and transactional level hires. He has experience working across a wide range of commercial clients from FTSE listed businesses through to fast growing SME’s and well-known brands. Over the years he has managed to build strong relationships with clients and candidates alike, partnering closely to deliver best outcomes whilst giving honest and open feedback. Brian Cognet was the founder and CEO of FSS International Group until 2000. A qualified accountant and seasoned business professional, he joined Cedar in 2003 as Non-Executive Chairman.
